Disposal & recycling

  • Disposal & recycling

All Hüsler Nest components are made from natural, unprocessed, and untreated materials. This not only has advantages for you personally, but it is also good for the environment - because all Hüsler Nest products can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way at the end of their long service life. As they are renewable raw materials, they also have an excellent CO2 balance.

Textiles

All textiles, such as overlays, quilts, and pillows, can be recycled.

Wood

Components made of wood, such as the frame insert, bed frame and the trimelles in the spring unit can be returned to your regional recycling centre.

Mattresses

Hüsler Nest natural latex mattresses are purely organic and could even be composted. Due to the sheer mass and the duration of this process, the mattresses currently also must be taken to the recycling centre. However, this is not a satisfactory situation. That is why Hüsler Nest is a member of the Mattress Alliance, the goal of which is to reuse the raw materials of used mattresses in Switzerland as secondary raw materials. Today, only thermal recycling is possible.

Motors

The motors of the Hüsler Nest frame inserts can be handed in at SENS collection points in Switzerland. The SENS Foundation is an independent, neutral, not-for-profit, charitable foundation and presents itself to the outside world under the brand name SENS eRecycling. As an expert in the sustainable recycling of discarded electrical and electronic equipment and much more, the foundation makes a decisive contribution to setting forward-looking standards in e-recycling. Outside Switzerland, you can hand in the motors as electronic scrap. In all cases, please separate the electrical parts from the solid wood parts of the frame insert. More information may be found at: www.sens.ch.
