Correct care for natural beds and textiles

Overlays, pillows and duvets
During the night, while you sleep, you lose between 3 and 7 dl of moisture. For a healthy, dry and hygienic sleeping environment, this moisture must be removed as quickly as possible.
In the Hüsler Nest Original sleep system, the topper is attached to the corners using elasticated bands. In the DeLuxe and Designa versions, it is attached to the mattress cover with a zip. Hüsler Nest uses only natural, breathable materials. In all versions, the toppers are easy to air, easy to care for and hygienic and fresh thanks to their natural self-cleaning function.
Air the topper, duvet and pillow in the fresh air as often as possible. It should be shady, but humid, misty fresh air is even better. This is the best way for the material to regenerate. Avoid exposure to sunlight.
All products made from plant fibres can be washed twice a year as required in accordance with the care instructions. The care instructions can be found on the product label or on our website under product details and downloads.
We recommend replacing the topper and duvet after around 5 to 7 years. The pillow should be replaced every 3 to 4 years for reasons of hygiene.
Mattresses and toppers
Hüsler mattresses and toppers are made of 100 % natural latex. The natural latex mattress is a UV-sensitive product. Despite protection by the surrounding textiles, some ultraviolet light always penetrates to the product, which damages the material properties.
Latex is a UV-sensitive natural product, and the wearing aspects vary from one mattress to another. You should therefore try to avoid UV radiation on your bed by choosing a suitable location in the room, keeping the curtains closed or covering it with a rug.
In addition, pressure and moisture exert great stress on the mattress and the latex strips in the spring unit during use.
Do not turn the mattress, as it has two lying surfaces with different degrees of hardness.
We recommend replacing the mattress after about 10 to 15 years.
Liforma & Futon spring unit
The heart of the Hüsler Nest ensures that your body will be correctly supported for many years. With little effort for care and maintenance, you will enjoy healthy and restful sleep for a long time.
Try to avoid UV radiation on your bed by choosing a suitable location in the room, keeping the curtains closed or covering it with a rug.
Turn the trimelles in the cotton bags and check the condition of the latex strips in the Liforma spring unit once a year.
We recommend replacing the latex strips every 10 to 15 years to maintain the high quality of the bed.
Classic and automated frame inserts
The frame insert is the supporting part of your sleeping system. It needs little attention.
Never treat the wood of the frame insert with wax or varnish – this inhibits the breathability.
From time to time, you can wipe the classic frame insert with a damp cloth. With an automated comfort frame (motorised frame insert), first remove the mains plug from the socket and just wipe the frame with a dry cloth.
All comfort frames with motor are equipped with a radio remote control. Replace the supplied batteries, if necessary, after two years at the latest.
